Differences Between External Bonded and Internal Bonded Nylon 66 (Polyamide 6.6) Sewing Thread
Release time:2025-04-02 Click:496There are always two main types bonded nylon 6.6 sewing thread in high tenacity filament, the classic external bonded nylon 6.6 thread, and the new generation internal bonded nylon 6.6 thread. They have some differences which are meaningful to choose the right thread.
I. Differences in Production Processes
- External Bonded Nylon 66 Thread:
The sewing thread is first dyed and finished according to the customer’s required specifications and colors. A single-strand stretching and gluing process is then applied, where a thin layer of transparent adhesive is coated on the outer surface of the plied yarn to bond the strands, achieving the "Bond effect."
- Internal Bonded Nylon 66 Thread:
During the twisting process, low-melting-point thermoplastic filaments are incorporated into the core of the plied yarn. These thermoplastic filaments melt during heat setting, bonding the strands internally to achieve the Bond effect. The thread is then dyed and finished according to the customer’s required specifications and colors.
II. Differences in Bonded Effect
- External Bonded Nylon 66 Thread:
The adhesive coating on the exterior often causes significant color deviations after gluing. Repeated friction or mechanical abrasion (e.g., during sewing with needle eyes) can lead to strand separation or fraying.
- Internal Bonded Nylon 66 Thread:
The internal bonding and post-Bond dyeing process effectively prevent color deviations and strand separation, ensuring higher durability.
III. Differences in Sewing Performance
- External Bonded Nylon 66 Thread:
The thread is stiffer due to the external adhesive coating, which can generate dust contamination during sewing.
- Internal Bonded Nylon 66 Thread:
The thread is softer and smoother, significantly enhancing sewing performance and reducing dust pollution.
Conclusion
Internal Bonded Nylon 66 Thread surpasses External Bonded Nylon 66 Thread in production principles, sewing performance and efficiency.TAYYON has focused on developing and investing in Internal Bonded Nylon 66 Thread technology.
